Who we are
ShoreTuna is a public register of tuna landed from the shore. The site is run by the ShoreTuna editor, who decides how and why personal data is used and is the controller of that data.
For any question about this policy or your data, write to nastic.ivan@gmail.com.
What we collect
Account data — when you create an account with an email address and password, we store your email address and password (the password is stored only in hashed form).
Google sign-in data — if you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, Google account ID and profile picture URL with us. We receive these only when you choose “Sign in with Google”. We never receive your Google password, and we do not read your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts.
Profile and catch data — the angler name, country, social links, catch weight, species, destination, date, method, tackle, story, photos and video links you enter yourself.
Technical data — the IP address, browser type and timestamps recorded by our hosting provider in server logs when a page is requested, used for security and fault diagnosis.
Cookies and local storage — a session token that keeps you signed in and a small amount of browser storage for your interface preferences. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
Why we use it
To create your account, sign you in and keep you signed in.
To publish a catch you submit on the public leaderboard, with the catch details and angler name you chose to publish.
To review submissions before publication, answer your messages and correct entries on request.
To protect the site from abuse and to diagnose technical faults.
Legal bases
We process account and catch data to perform the service you asked for (contract), and publishing a catch on the leaderboard is done on the basis of your consent, given when you submit it. Security logs and abuse prevention rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the site running. You can withdraw consent for publication at any time by asking us to unpublish your entry.
What becomes public
Once a catch is approved, the catch details, the angler name and the photo are visible to anyone. Your email address, password and account ID are never published.
If you add social or video links to a catch, those links are published with it.
Who else is involved
Hosting, database and file storage are provided by our platform provider (Base44 / Wix), which processes data on our instructions.
Google processes data when you use Google sign-in, under Google's own privacy policy.
We do not sell personal data, do not share it with advertising networks, and the site carries no third-party ad trackers.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Catch data and photos stay published until you ask for them to be removed. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account data and either delete or anonymise your published catches.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correction of anything wrong, deletion of your account and entries, restriction of processing, or an export in a portable format. You can also object to your catch being published.
Send the request from the email address on your account to nastic.ivan@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days.
Children
ShoreTuna is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
